The Annual Chariot Festival or rathothsavam is conducted every year in this temple. Prahlada is seen standing with folded hands in prayer beside the Lord. The presiding deity in this temple is Lord Narasimha Swamy and is seen with eight hands and hence known as Ashta bahu Narasimha. People from not only India visit Kadiri temple but also from many other countries too. Every year thousands of Hindu pilgrims from various parts of the country visit Kadiri ( Khadri ) temple and receive the blessings of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy. Sri Mahalakshmi, the Lords consort is understood here by the name of Sri Amruthavalli Ammavaru. The Chalukya and Vijayanagara rulers were believed to be the constructors of this temple. ![]() The more the priests wipe the sweat, the more the oozing of the sweat is seen. The amazing fact is the sweat comes out of the sacred idol after Abhishekam is performed. The temple of Lord Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swami at Kadiri claims to be a swayambhu temple since Lord Narasimha has emerged from the Khadri tree to kill Hiranyakashipu and save His devotee Prahlada. Prahlada is seen standing beside him with folded hands. He appears here as Ashta Bahu Narasimha (having eight hands) tearing Hiranyakasipu. ![]() Lord Narasimha at Kadiri is swayambhu, having emerged from the roots of the Khadri tree.
